CSCA Symposium 'Neuroeconomics: An exciting joint venture'

How does the brain produce behavior? And what does economics have to do with it? Why do brain scientists need economists and why do economists need to look into brains? What are the promises and limitations of neuroeconomics? In an exciting joint venture, neuroscientists, biologists, psychologists and economists are exploring new approaches to improve our understanding of behavior.

On Friday, June 18, 2010, the Cognitive Science Center Amsterdam of the University of Amsterdam organises a Symposium chaired by visiting professor Ernst Fehr of the University of Zürich.

In this symposium, a number of prominent researchers will give presentations on their latest work within the area of neuroeconomics. Speakers are Michael Platt, Scott Huettel, Kevin McCabe, and Richard Ridderinkhof. By way of closing the symposium, Ernst Fehr will comment on the various lectures. Altogether, the symposium will offer an overview of recent developments in this interesting new field of research.

Deadline for registration: June 1, 2010.
