The master programme attracts students from all over the world, e.g. Great Britain, Italy, Poland, Mexico, China and the United States. Forty percent of our student population is international. The Brain and Cognitive Sciences master is imbedded in the Cognitive Science Center Amsterdam. This Center has strong national and international affiliations, which allows you to build an interesting and useful network.
Cognitive Science Community
The Cognitive Science Center of Amsterdam (CSCA) is a multidisciplinary consortium consisting of biologists, psychologists, linguists, logistics, mathematicians and social scientists from the UvA who have joined forces to study and teach about the wonder of cognition. Accredited Research Master
The Master's programme in Brain and Cognitive Sciences is accredited as a research master by the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO). This label, research master's programme, is given to programmes that specifically aim at preparing students for entrance into a PhD programme or for a career in research, however not excluding other career prospects. Upon successful completion of the programme, students will receive a legally accredited Master's degree in Brain and Cognitive Sciences and the title of Master of Science (MSc).
