Electives and Course registration
Some students have planned to take elective courses in the second semester. If you have chosen electives that are on the pre-approved elective list in the study guide, these do not have to be approved by the Board of Examiners. Students wishing to take other electives, please apply for them through the elective form which can be found here.
Be aware that the courses you choose have to be master courses in order to be approved for your master programme.
For students planning to take courses organised by the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies in the 2nd semester, please let us know before December 23 which courses you would like to take, even if you have already indicated at an earlier stage that you would like to take one of these courses.
Enrollment for elective courses in different institutions
If you are planning to participate in elective courses, you have to sign up for the courses at the institute that organises the course. Registering for a course doesn’t always mean that you’ll be allowed to take it. This is assessed by the organising institute, based on your prior knowledge of the subject and the number of available places for the course. If you are not sure whether you have the right background for a particular course, we advise you to contact the lecturer of the course in advance.
The different organising institutes have different deadlines and manners for registration. We therefore advise you to plan ahead and register for the courses you want to take as soon as possible. The deadlines and registration procedure for the courses of the different institutes are as follows:Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies
